High alumina low cement castables are one of the most used refractory castables in unshaped materials that is, castables with an addition of calcium aluminate cement about half or one third of ordinary cement castables, with a cement addition of 3-8 and a CaO content generally between 1-3%, are called low cement castables. Compared with general high alumina castables, superfine powder is to reduce cement content, which greatly improves the strength and erosion resistance of low cement castables. While increasing the bulk density and reducing the porosity, the service life increased. The traditional common refractory castables have a high cement content of 10 to 30%, while the matrix of low and low cement is made of superfine powder (particle size less than 5um) with the same or similar chemical composition as the main material of the castable which replaces part or most of the cement, and a small amount of dispersant (water reducing agent) and a certain amount of delayed retarder are added. Its advantages are:
1) the content of calcium oxide in the castable is low, which can reduce the formation of low melting phase in the material, improving the refractoriness, high temperature strength and slag resistance; 2) after molding and curing, the cement hydrate generated is less, and there is no problem of a large number of hydration bonds breaking and the medium temperature strength decreasing when heated and roasted, but the strength is continuously improved the increase of temperature; 3) the water demand of the castable is greatly reduced, so the porosity is low and the bulk density is. Low cement refractory castables mainly include high alumina, mullite and corundum refractory castables, which have the characteristics high strength, anti-scouring, wear resistance and good performance. Main uses: the use temperature of low cement high alumina castables is higher that of ordinary refractory castables with the same material. High alumina low cement castables can be used for the lining of heating furnace, homogenizing and various heat treatment furnaces and rotary kilns. Mullite low cement castables can be used for the lining of various high temperature burners, heating furnace cooling tube wrapping liner, etc. Corundum and chromium corundum low cement castables can be used for the lining of some parts of the steel lad external refining device, and can also be used for the lining of the medium frequency induction furnace, the high temperature wear-resistant lining of the petroleum chemical catalytic reactor, etc. Al2O3-SiC-C low cement castables can be used as the lining of the blast furnace iron trough, the iron lad of the converter, the whole shot gun for iron water pre-treatment, etc.
