High-strength impermeable bricks for aluminum electrolytic cells are a new type of impermeable refractory brick. By adding certainmeable agents to materials such as jasper powder and potassium feldspar, it can effectively improve the impermeable and leak-proof performance in the electrolytic. The content of aluminum is between 20-30. At high temperature, it forms a nepheline layer with alumina, which prevents NaandF steam and aluminum liquid from penetrating downward. The principle of impermeability is that m(AL2O3)/m(SiO2) is greater 0.9, which can inhibit the permeation of Na and NaF. Because the infiltrated Na and NaF can react with AL2O3—O2 refractory materials to form nepheline (Na2O·AL2O3 ·2SiO2), thus blocking the porosity and preventing the permeation of Na and NaF. It has excellent resistance to cryolite and aluminum liquid corrosion, high strength, and good thermal shock stability, and is the choice to extend the service life of aluminum electrolytic cells.
